Students who have severe disabilities require special resources to learn and grow. Northeast Metro 916 collaborates with member districts to bring children with varying levels of disabilities together with highly trained and certified staff who provide specialized programs and services to meet their needs. We provide structured, safe learning environments that address students' academic, social, emotional, behavior and communication needs.
Each student, through assessment and evaluation information, has an individualized education plan (IEP). The IEP integrates learning and support services and outlines how the student will receive services. We provide a full array of special education services to member districts. Some services are provided within the student's home school district; others are provided in Northeast Metro 916 sites.
Northeast Metro 916 provides a range of related services at all grade levels as needed and outlined in the student's IEP.
Northeast Metro 916 works closely with families, children, member districts, community agencies, the county and state to provide programs that help children with disabilities reach their fullest potential.
Sharing staff and resources is a cost-effective solution for our member districts. Referrals are made through the special education director of the student's home school district.
