Northeast Metro 916 Career and Tech Students Building Communities
Students from the Career and Tech Center Construction Occupations Program have been busy honing their skills while contributing to the local community. In cooperation with the city of North St. Paul, two park shelters were built by Northeast Metro 916 students. The open air shelters replaced existing park structures that needed to be torn down due to age. The shelters, located at Tower Park and Hause Park measured 20’x24’ and include a vaulted ceiling that is finished in knotty pine. The structural columns are finished with detailing to provide a craftsman style of architecture. Construction students were able to take both shelter projects from start to finish and provided them a hands-on career education. We congratulate them on their fine work!
