Groundbreaking at Capitol View  
On July 12, we were joined by our partners at the City of Little Canada, LSE Architects, Inc., Kraus-Anderson, and Karges Faulconbridge to celebrate our latest construction project at Capitol View Center.

Programs served

  • Assessment Center
    Program that provides a comprehensive evaluation of a student’s skills and abilities

  • Assistive Technology Library
    A library of technology resources that maximize learning and interaction for students with disabilities

  • Creative Alternatives Program
    Program for students in grades 6-12 with multiple neurobiological disorders

  • Alternate Learning Program
    Program for students in grades 6-12 with emotional/behavioral disorders

  • Project Return
    Program for students in grades 6-12 who are facing expulsion or suspension in their home districts

  • WELS (Work Exploration Life Skills)
    Program that teaches work skill development to students aged 12-21 with intensive special education needs

About the building

  • Planned opening in fall 2018
  • Will house six school programs and administrative offices serving more than 300 students and 200 staff
  • Features natural light and access to natural scenery
  • Sound remediation creates a quiet and calm atmosphere for students
  • Building layout allows for classroom, small group and individual learning environments
  • Dignified learning spaces have improved lighting, air quality and temperature control
